Unique! World's First Blue Banana

So far, we usually see a yellow banana, or occasionally there is also green, not even rare to find bananas that somewhat blackish brown. Then, how about a banana-colored quirky, like the color blue?

Recently found in bananas which differ from the usual, ie the blue banana. This tropical fruit itself is the experimental results of several scientists from the University of Innsbruck (Austria) and Columbia University (New York, USA)


The research team, which consists of several scientists explained, the phenomenon of blue banana itself is the first time this has happened in the world. They explained, blue banana could result from the degradation of chlorophyll that ripen the fruit, after it dispektrum using ultraviolet light.


Chlorophyll is the photosynthetic pigment found in plants or fruits, which absorbs red light, blue, and purple, and reflect green light which causes plants or fruits are obtained characteristic color.


Beside that, there are chloroplasts that utilize light energy absorbed as light reactions in photosynthesis.
